Questions about the voice to text app

The “Wait, Is This Really Free?” Section

What is SotiTalk?

SotiTalk is a free speech to text app for iPhone and Android. You tap one button, talk, and your words appear as text while you're still speaking. Filler words and stutters disappear, punctuation is added, and when you correct yourself ("at 9, no, at 10"), only the correction stays.

Is SotiTalk really free?

Yes, completely. There are no hidden fees, no premium tiers and no in-app purchases. Every feature is available to everyone from day one.

Do I need an account?

No. Download the app and start transcribing. No email, no password, no sign-up screen: nothing stands between you and your first transcript.

Is SotiTalk available for iPhone and Android?

Yes. SotiTalk is available for free on both iOS and Android, from the App Store and Google Play. Want to try it first? The demo at the top of this page transcribes your voice right in the browser for 60 seconds, no download needed.

Which languages does SotiTalk understand?

SotiTalk transcribes 13 languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and Arabic. You don't pick one beforehand. SotiTalk detects the language automatically, even if you switch in the middle of a conversation.

Is there a time limit?

One recording can run for up to 90 minutes. After that, just start a new one right away. In total you can transcribe up to 5 hours a day, enough for a full day of lectures or meetings. The browser demo on this page is limited to 60 seconds.

Does SotiTalk work offline?

No, SotiTalk needs an internet connection while you record. Your audio is never stored, and the finished transcript is saved on your phone.

Where are my transcripts stored?

Only on your phone. Your transcripts never leave your device after they're written, and since there's no account, nothing is linked to you. You can delete any recording in the app at any time.

Can I transcribe audio files or voice memos?

Not yet. SotiTalk transcribes live from the microphone, so it can't import voice memos or audio files. If you need that, tell us through the feedback button in the app.

How accurate is the transcription?

Try it yourself in the demo above. Filler words disappear, grammar and punctuation get fixed, and your self-corrections are applied. Give names and technical terms a quick check before you send anything.

Can I make the text bigger?

Yes. Tap the text size button on the live screen to switch between Normal, Large, Extra large and Huge. That helps when someone across the table reads along, for example a person who doesn't hear well. You can also set your default size in Settings.

Does it keep recording when my screen is locked?

Yes. You can lock your phone or switch to another app and SotiTalk keeps transcribing. On iPhone (iOS 17 and later) you can stop the recording from the lock screen. On Android you can pause, resume or stop it from the notification.

Can I copy and share my transcripts?

Yes. Every transcript can be copied to your clipboard or shared to any app with a single tap. Use it for notes, messages, emails, whatever you need.

Can I listen to music while transcribing?

Yes. SotiTalk focuses on your voice, so background music doesn't get in the way. Your music app keeps playing, too.

Didn't believe the demo up top? Scroll up and try again.

Still scrolling? Your voice isn't gonna transcribe itself.

Wait, you're still reading? Just download it already.

Okay now you're just showing off.

There's nothing left down here.
